Whistler Monday Morning Coffee
Good Morning!
We'll keep it short today as I have a couple of buyer meetings today to prepare for.
I took the family up Whistler for a ski day on Saturday and we were stunned with how busy it was. Of course having 70 cm of fresh in the 24 hours from Friday to Saturday didn't hurt either! We heard that there were 25,000 skiers on Whistler and Blackcomb on Saturday. The snow and bluebird skies were a big factor but also I think many of the folks from the lower mainland had this past weekend and possibly next weekend targeted as being their last time up to Whistler before the Olympic madness hits. Also, Cypress closed last week as they try to preserve their snowpack and ready their slopes for the Olympic halfpipe, skier cross, snowboard and freestyle events.
I'm really looking forward to being here in Whistler during the Olympics. How often does the Olympics come to your home town?! The town is now really feeling electric with excitement as you stroll around. There are huge Olympic banners everywhere and buildings are getting wrapped with them. There's also a contest going on for businesses to decorate for the Olympics and our office looks fabulous as do many others. It's going to be a tight contest!
With the Olympic aversion factor, we should see minimal traffic on the mountains so the skiing will be phenomenal. I don't think many people realize that a full 90% of the terrain on both mountains are going to be open. I have friends coming from Winnipeg just to hang out with us, do some skiing, and enjoy the Olympic vibe. They don't even have tickets to any events. They just want to be a part of it all. Wise move - it will be unforgettable.

By the way, we now have accepted offers on our two Hilton foreclosure suites that I've been mentioning for weeks now. The court date has not been set yet but I will advise when it is. That way, if you're interested in offering as well, you can plan to attend at the Robson Square courthouse in Vancouver with me. Call me for more details on this.
