Whistler Monday Morning Coffee

Good Morning!

Buyer activity has slowed down a wee bit as we are now clearly into our spring "shoulder season". This means that with the steady increase in listing inventory we've been seeing since the end of the Olympics there are lots of sellers who are eager to get noticed amongst all the others and make a deal. If you're thinking of buying in Whistler soon it's a great time to take a look while there are still plenty of properties to choose from. My gut tells me that we'll see the inventory start to shrink as we get toward our big yearly sales season which begins in July and ends in late fall. Shrinking inventory means only one thing - rising prices. So, make a deal now while sellers are eager.

A couple of very sharply priced properties to report to you this week on my "hot buy" list.
  • 8261 Valley Drive in Alpine Meadows - just reduced in price to $1,199,000. Huge value for a renovated home in Alpine.
  • #217 Blackcomb Lodge which is a Phase 2, 1 bedroom plus loft in Whistler Village has been reduced in price to $169,000. These were selling in 2005 for $379,000!
  • J204 Tamarisk at $309,000 - a clean and bright, two bedroom suite for the price of a one bedroom just south of Whistler Creekside.
Total current listings active in Whistler and Pemberton sit at 1096.
