Different types of condos in Whistler - Quartershares
Thinking of owning a condo in the Village but don't know anything about the types of condos in Whistler? Here is a brief description of Quartershare Condos
Quartershare
If you've seen listings that show a pretty attractive property at a low price, say a 2 bedroom apartment for around $100k, it's typically a Quartershare. The way a Quartershare works is you can occupy the property for only one week in a month, which is one out of four. You'd get 11 to 12 weeks a year from it, and every year the calendar rotates so every 4th year you get Christmas and New Years typically as a 10 day block. Quartershares are great for people who want to know what their schedule is moving forward and can lock themselves into these dates, but if you want more flexibility to come up on a whim whenever you'd like, this property most likely wouldn't work for you. The trade off to owning these types of properties is their significantly low price, and you're usually in a great building and in a good location like Horstman House at the base of Blackcomb, the Legends at Whistler Creekside and Evolution at the base of Whistler and in larger town homes, you've got Montebello, who boasts some luxury large 3-3 1/2 bedroom townhomes which is in Village North. Owning a Quartershare is a great option if it fits your lifestyle.
