Whistler Monday Morning Real Estate Market Update

Good Morning!

All I can say right now is WOW! I officially now have Olympic fever. Yes, I've been excited about the Games coming to town for the past 7 years since we won the bid but until you actually see the flame at the base of Whistler Mountain it doesn't seem real. I took the whole family to see the flame arrive in Whistler on Friday night and we ended up in a sea of 25,000 people at the base of Whistler. Take a look at the video I took from that night. Simply amazing!

As usual you may click here for all the newest listings in Whistler and Pemberton in the past 7 days and click here for all the properties that have sold in the past 7 days as well.

There were 58 new listings in Whistler and Pemberton last week! Now, keep in mind what I've been saying for some time now. These new listings were entirely expected and guess what? Most of them aren't new. Many of these are sellers who have been trying unsuccessfully to sell their properties over the past 2 years but are now bringing them back on the market to try and capitalize on the Olympic exposure.

Lots of great listings to choose from and some very realistic pricing in most cases. I also uploaded a video this week discussing some of the many great deals that are at The Coast Hotel on Blackcomb (formerly the Marriott). I just listed a studio there at $119,000 and we also have two 2 bedroom corner suites overlooking the ski slope for $299,000 and $295,000 each.

Finally, if you get a chance this coming Friday, February 12th, run out and try to find a copy of The New York Times. I was interviewed by a reporter from The New York Times about two weeks ago for some insights on the Whistler real estate market. It was a great interview and the article will be out on newstands across the globe as well as in their online version. Be sure to have a look.
