1. King of the Rail


When: January 4, 2017

Description: King of the Rail is now a 3 part series of rail jam contests culminating in the crowning of the King and Queen of the Rail on the final night.   Each event is held in the evening at the Base of Whistler next to the Fitzsimmons Chair. Separate categories for Snowboarders & Skiers, Kings & Queens, and Adult & Youth. Great competition for the participants and an excellent show for the spectators.

2. SAMSUNG Deep Winter Photo Challenge - Presented by Gore-Tex


When: January 7, 2017

Description: The 11th annual Samsung Deep Winter Photo Challenge, presented by GORE-TEX® products, returns to Whistler Blackcomb on January 7th, 2017. Invited photographers have 72 hours to capture athletes in their natural mountain habitats and edit the best images into a 5-minute slideshow. Join the audience and see who shoots their way to the top.

3. Winemaker Après Series


When: January 12, 2017 

Description:  A special afternoon featuring world class wines paired with locally-sourced culinary delights. Perched atop Whistler Mountain with stunning views from Steeps Grill & Wine Bar, a full-course dinner complete with wine pairings is guaranteed to be a feast for your senses.

4. Vikram Vij Visits Glacier Creek


When: January 14, 2017 

Description: Vikram Vij, an Indian-born Canadian chef, cookbook author, and former  "dragon" investor on the Canadian reality show Dragon's Den will be in the Roundhouse and Glacier Creek on January 14th to sample his famous curry. Join us to try some delicious food, and meet the Dragon in person.

5. Whistler Pride & Ski Festival 


When: January 22-29, 2017 

Description: Don't miss one of the biggest and best gay & lesbian ski weeks in the world! 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of Whistler Pride and Ski Festival. From snow sports and pool parties to the infamous "Snowball Grand Finale Dance Party", it's the highlight of winter for lesbians, Bears, Spa Queens and everything in between.
