Owning a ski-in/ski-out property in Whistler, British Columbia is the ultimate dream for many skiers and snowboarders. To have the ability to step out of your front door and onto the slopes is a major draw for those looking for a second home or a place to live year-round in this stunning mountain town. But with so many beautiful areas in Whistler to choose from, it can be tough to figure out where the best ski-in/ski-out neighbourhoods are located. In this blog post, I'm going to show you the three areas of Whistler where you can truly ski right in and out of your property with little to no walking.
Blackcomb Benchlands
First on the list is Blackcomb Benchlands, where you'll find condos and townhomes such as The Aspens, Woodrun, and Painted Cliff right on the ski slope. You can ski right up to the front door of these properties, but if you're looking for a little more privacy, there are other condo and townhome buildings just one or two streets back from the slope that are easy to walk to. On a huge snowy day, you can even glide down the side of the street on your skis to get to your home, making them ski-in properties on big storm days! Additionally, there's a hidden street of luxury homes in Blackcomb Benchlands called Horstman Lane, which has ski-in access from Blackcomb's 'Home Run' ski trail, but you can't ski back out on this trail. Therefore, these properties are not truley ski-in/ski-out.
Whistler Village
Next, we have the base zone coming into Whistler Village from both Blackcomb and Whistler mountains. Here you'll find townhomes such as Snowy Creek, Cedar Ridge, Cedar Hollow, Summit Lane, and Pinnacle Ridge. There are also hotel condos at the base in Whistler Village, which include the Carleton Lodge, The Pan Pacific Mountainside, The Westin, and The Hilton. There are also ski-in/ski-out townhomes at Telemark and Northern Lights for those who want to be right in the heart of Whistler Village.
Creekside
Lastly, we have the Whistler Creekside zone, which is the original Whistler Mountain base from the 1960s. Here, you'll find quarter-share properties such as The Legends and Evolution which are great for those who want to dip their toes into the Whistler Real estate market. You are also able to find some great full-ownership properties like First Tracks Lodge, Lake Placid Lodge, and Gondola Village which are all located at the base of the Creekside gondola. Finally, there is a fair share of ski-in properties like Snowridge Crescent, Snowridge townhomes, Taluswood, and the stunning fractional ownership properties at Nature's Door. These properties are tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood on the Whistler mountainside. Just above Creekside, you'll also find the exclusive luxury home neighbourhood of Kadenwood, which is one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in Whistler. The homes at Kadenwood have a network of dedicated ski trails that feed right into them from the Peak to Creek trail system, and there's even a private gondola that takes residents back up to the neighbourhood after skiing down to Whistler Creekside.
Owning property in Whistler automatically gives you access to one of the best ski resorts in the world, however, owning a home that is just steps from the lifts gives you a mountain experience like no other. These area's are highly sought after, so If are financially able and are on the hunt for a ski-in/ski-out property in Whistler, be prepared to jump when a home or condo comes on the market.
