    What is a Quartershare?

    Quarter ownership is a great way to dip your toe into the Whistler real estate market. In this video I've outlined all you need to know about how quartershare condos in Whistler work!

    1. Four Locations

    There are four main quarter share properties in Whistler, at Whistler Creekside we have one, two and three bedroom quarter share condos at The Legends and next door at evolution. At Black home we have Horstmann house and at Whistler Village north we have quarter share townhomes at Montebello, if you're looking for something a bit bigger. Ownership of a quarter share gives you access to a specific suite for one week out of every four. The check in day is Friday and your check out is the following Friday. you're purchasing either an A, B, C or a D week. And you can see on the provided rotational calendar where you purchased week falls this year and in the coming years. Every fourth year you'll get Christmas and New Year's as a two week block in lieu of losing a week in November that year for property deep cleaning. You can stay for your entire Friday to Friday week or just a weekend or a few days. It's up to you. Now when you're not using your suite, the rental management will handle the rentals for you for a rental management fee in the range of 40% of your gross revenue. Or you can choose to not do rentals at all.

    2. Monthly Fees

    Next up are the monthly fees. The nice thing about quarter shares is that the monthly fee is all inclusive your quarter share of the monthly strategy tourism Whistler fee yearly property taxes and utilities such as hydro, cable and internet are all rolled into one monthly fee for each of the suites for owners. The only other fee you would ever have to pay would be about an $85 cleaning fee at the end of your stay. Now you might be wondering what happens if there's any damage in the suite from a renter or another owner or even just the usual wear and tear. The property management maintenance staff is always staying on top of all suite repairs so nothing gets missed. And once they've handled a repair in your suite, all four owners will see a line item for unit repair and maintenance on your monthly statement so it's taken care of.

    3. Bonus Tip

    If you have a dog and would like to bring it along with you on your trip to Whistler the only quarter share building that's pet friendly is Evolution at Creekside, so that's the case that would narrow down your options considerably.
