    Whistler Foreign Buyer Ban?

    Does the 2022 Canadian federal government's recent budgets stop all foreign buyers from purchasing property in Whistler? Let's find out. Today we've got to talk about the recent federal budget announcement.

    Federal Budget

    The foreign buyer ban announced on April 7 2022, as part of this year's Federal Budget excludes recreational properties, which on paper seems like great news for Whistler. But whether real estate in Whistler is within the federal government's definition of recreational properties remains to be seen. I can't see how it wouldn't.

    For Example

    If an avid ski family from Seattle is buying a home or condo in Whistler, well, that's just about as recreational as it gets in my books, but Stranger things have happened. And we expect to find out more on this in the coming weeks and I'll update you as soon as I know.
