As of yesterday the holiday crowds have finally arrived in full force. I always find it curious that it's fairly busy out there on the slopes and in the Village in the run-up to Christmas but it never feels overly crowded. But, I think that once the people have celebrate Christmas at home they then jump on a plane or on the highway to come up for the remainder of the holidays in Whistler.
Those crowds really haven't turned into any tangible recent real estate sales though. This has been one of the slowest Decembers for real estate sales I've seen in a long time. What a contrast to the super-heated market we saw over the past 2 years. Just 12 sales in all of Whistler across all real estate companies for the entire month of December so far. We'll continue to monitor the situation as we get the holidays behind us and move into the new year.
